Box Score Box score

MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran College was defeated by the Benedictine University Eagles 8-3 on Friday in the second game of a Northern Athletics Conference softball doubleheader at Warrior Field.

WLC and Benedictine went three scoreless innings before either team could send a run across the plate. The Eagles erupted for six runs in the fourth to take the lead. The Warriors answered right back in the bottom of the frame when sophomore Lindsey Phillips (Houston, Minn./Houston) singled home sophomore Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) and freshman Stephanie Sack (Granger, Ind./Michigan Lutheran) to cut the deficit to 6-2.

Benedictine plated two more runs in the fifth before WLC tallied its final run of the game in the seventh on an RBI groundout from Laura Konop (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) that plated Phillips.

Phillips, who finished with two RBIs in the game, was one of four players to record one hit for the Warriors.

Kristin Bonk went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored to lead the Eagles (17-5, 7-1 NAC), who won their fifth straight game.

Wisconsin Lutheran (7-13, 5-7 NAC) hosts the Concordia University Chicago Cougars on Monday in a noon NAC doubleheader at Warrior Field.
