Box Score Box score

MILWAUKEE - The Warriors earned a 10-3 victory over Concordia Chicago on Monday in the second game of a Northern Athletics Conference softball doubleheader under winter-like conditions at Warrior Field.

Wisconsin Lutheran jumped on top of the Cougars early by scoring runs in the first four innings of the game. WLC grabbed a 4-0 lead in the second with a two-out three-run rally. Concordia Chicago was plagued by three errors in the inning.

After the Cougars scored a pair of runs in the top of the third, Wisconsin Lutheran managed to score three more runs in the bottom of the frame on five walks and no hits. WLC led 7-2 heading into the fourth.

Wisconsin Lutheran kept the scoring going in the fourth on a Morgan Dittmar (Oostburg, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) solo home run and an RBI single by Emily Foster (Brookfield, Wis./East). CUC and WLC each sent a run across the plate in the sixth before the Warriors retired the Cougars in order in the seventh to salvage the doubleheader split.

Junior Ashley Zaunter (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored for WLC. Junior Jenny Boelk (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) tossed all seven innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven to pick up the win on the mound.

Courtney Campbell and Clarissa Geiseke each tallied two hits to lead the Cougars (5-16, 3-6 NAC).

Wisconsin Lutheran (8-14, 6-8 NAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Verona, Wis., to take on Edgewood in a NAC doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at Ceniti Park.
