Wisconsin Lutheran suffers 5-0 loss to MSOE

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 Northern Athletics Conference loss to the hands Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Warriors gave up only one first-half goal despite allowing the Raiders to attempt 28 shots in the opening period. MSOE's tally came with 9:12 gone by in the half. The score remained 1-0 through one half of action.

After keeping the Raiders off of the scoreboard for the first 15 minutes of the second half, the visitors erupted for four goals over a 17-minute span to build a 5-0 advantage, which would turn out to be the final score.

Junior Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) registered 22 saves in the game for the Warriors, who received shots from Emily Helwig (Westland, Mich./Huron Valley Lutheran), Allison Mielke (Green Bay, Wis./N.E.W. Lutheran) and Meghan Goetzinger (Ottawa, Ontario/Luther Preparatory) in the contest.

Colleen Krechel tallied a game-high 10 of MSOE's (5-2-1, 3-0 NAC) 45 shots in the match. Emma Lumpe made one save for the Raiders.

Wisconsin Lutheran (3-5, 1-1 NAC) hosts the Aurora University Spartans on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. NAC match at Warrior Field.
