MILWAUKEE - The Edgewood College Eagles scored four goals in the second half to break open a scoreless halftime draw, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College 4-0 Saturday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Conference contest at Warrior Field.

The Warriors and Eagles played through a scoreless first half of action as WLC senior goalkeeper Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) saved seven shots while facing 14 in the net during the opening frame.

Edgewood broke the 0-0 score in the second minute of the second half when Kristina Santaga sent a cross into the box that found the head of Elaine Gerry who put the ball in the back of the net. Less than a minute later (47:32), Gerry and Brianna Franken returned the favor to Santaga to tally EC's second score. The visitors from Madison scored two more times before the contest came to a close.

Freshman Maggie Smith (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) was credited with WLC's only shot attempt in the game. Sloan concluded the match with 14 stops in the net after facing 33 Eagles shots.

Franken finished with a team-high eight shots for Edgewood (11-4-1, 6-3 NAC). Kristi Frisch earned the shutout win in goal.

Wisconsin Lutheran (4-12-1, 1-8-1 NAC) will play its final road game of the regular season Tuesday at Benedictine University (5-7-1, 4-5-1 NAC) in Lisle, Ill. Match time against the Eagles is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Village of Lisle-BU Sports Complex.
