MILWAUKEE - Concordia University Wisconsin
(10-5-3, 6-2-2 NAC) held off a late surge by Wisconsin Lutheran
College (3-15-1, 2-8 NAC) to hold on for 1-0 victory over the
Warriors on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Warrior Field.
Despite out-shooting the Warriors in both halves, CUW's Kyle
Sytsma scored the only goal of the game at 32:05 off an assist from
Jason Rogers.
Senior goalkeeper Chris Lorig (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran)
made six saves in the loss for the Warriors, while senior Cameron
Teske (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran), junior James Sather
(Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hale) and freshman Andre Kaul (West Allis,
Wis./Nathan Hale) each tallied shots on goal to lead WLC's
offensive attack.
Concordia Wisconsin goalkeeper Samuel Ische made three saves to
earn the shutout. Phil Dziatkiewicz had five shots and Enrique
Alvarado attempted six for the Falcons, who out-shot the Warriros
21-6 for the game.
WLC seniors Lorig, Teske and Jake Parnau (Milwaukee,
Wis./Greendale) were honored during today's game for the
contributions to Warriors soccer over the past four seasons.
Wisconsin Lutheran wraps up its 2010 season Tuesday afternoon by
taking on Concordia University Chicago (2-12-4, 0-7-3 NAC) in River
Forest, Ill. The contest kicks-off at 3 p.m. at Concordia
Stadium.
