MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin Lutheran College scored five runs in the fourth inning to overcome an early three-run deficit to go on and defeat the MSOE Raiders 11-6 in game two of Saturday's Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader at Warrior Field.

MSOE plated a pair of quick runs to start the game, but the Warriors countered to score two runs of their own in the bottom of the first to knot the game at 2-2. Katie Timm (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and Morgan Dittmar (Oostburg, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) each tallied RBIs for the hosts.

Following the only scoreless frame of the game in the second, MSOE gained a 5-2 advantage when Jess Iverson and Rebecca Gardner had run-scoring hits. WLC inched closer in its half of the third when Jenny Boelk (Fond du Lac, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) scored from third after Maggie Mueller (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) was caught stealing second.

Wisconsin Lutheran overcame its deficit to grab the lead for good in the fourth by plating five runs on four hits. WLC received RBIs from Ashley Zautner (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Laura Konop (Germantown, Wis./Germantown), Mueller and Dittmar.

The Raiders plated their final tally in the fifth after Julia Windish, who led off with a double, reached home on an error. In the bottom of the fifth, Konop's two-run single that scored Stephanie Sack (Granger, Ind./Michigan Lutheran) and Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) put the Warriors up 10-6.

WLC added its final run in the sixth when Mueller, who began the inning with a triple, scored on a Timm groundout.

Mueller and Sack recorded three hits each to pace the Warriors at the plate, while Boelk and Dittmar added a pair of hits. Konop added three RBIs. Timm, who also drove in two runs, picked up her fourth win (4-6) of the season in the circle. The freshman allowed five earned runs on six hits in all 7.0 innings of work. She struck out four and walked two.

Windish went 2-for-3 with three runs scored to lead the Raiders (8-8, 4-6 NAC). Iverson allowed 11 runs on 13 hits in 6.0 innings to suffer the loss (7-8).

Wisconsin Lutheran (5-17, 2-12 NAC) caps off its week tomorrow with a NAC doubleheader against cross-town foe Alverno College. First pitch between the Warriors and Inferno is set for 12 p.m. at Alverno Field.
