MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
women's soccer team fell to the Milwaukee School of Engineering
Raiders, 7-0, on Homecoming Saturday afternoon at Warrior
Field.
The Raiders (6-4, 4-1 NAC) built an early lead by scoring 8:41
into the game when Jessica Axt found the back of the net. MSOE
added two more goals in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the
break.
Warriors goalkeeper Sarah Luebke (Kaukauna, Wis./ Fox Valley
Lutheran) stopped seven shots in the opening half. In the game's
first 45 minutes, the Raiders outshot WLC, 21-1.
MSOE used three goals in the opening 7:15 of the second half to
expand the lead to 6-0 as Axt scored two of those goals, giving her
four in the contest. Axt led all players with 13 shots.
The Warriors finished the game with two shots on the net, one
coming of the foot of Niki DiSalvo (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) and
the other by Sarah Kolander (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran).
Wisconsin Lutheran, which hosted an Epilepsy Awareness game, was
joined on the sidelines by Leo McCullough, who served as the team's
guest coach for the day. McCullough was presented with an official
ball and jersey at halftime.
The Warriors (0-10, 0-5 NAC) conclude their three-game homestand
Tuesday when they host Rockford College (3-5, 0-5 NAC). The NAC
match at Warrior Field is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
