LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's basketball team fell to Hendrix (Ark.) 65-47 Saturday
night at the D3hoops.com Classic at the South Point Arena in Las
Vegas, Nev.
Hendrix built a 12-point first-half lead, 31-19, after shooting
47.8 percent (11-for-23) from the floor in the opening half.
Wisconsin Lutheran struggled from the field in the first 20 minutes
connecting on just 31 percent (9-for-19) of its field goals.
WLC would cut the Hendrix lead to as close as nine points in the
second half, but the Warriors pulled away again for the 65-47
win.
Hendrix (5-6) finished the game shooting 47.2 percent
(25-for-53) from the floor including an impressive 50 percent
(8-for-16) from three-point range. Jaren Riley finished with 19
points in leading the Warriors, while Colton Primm added 12 points.
Both Riley and Primm pulled down a game-best nine rebounds.
WLC was led by senior Tim Demuth (Franksville, Wis./Racine
Lutheran) who netted 10 points. Sophomore Brett Lubbe (Las Vegas,
Nev./Faith Lutheran) pulled down a team-best five rebounds in his
return to his hometown, while freshman Randy Strutz (Sturtevant,
Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) also grabbed five boards. The Warriors
finished the game shooting 33.3 percent (18-for-54) from the
field.
Wisconsin Lutheran (4-8) will return to action tomorrow when it
completes play at the D3hoops.com Classic against Linfield
(Ore.) (2-8). The Warriors and Wildcats will tip-off at 6 p.m. CST
at South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
