Box Score Box score

BELOIT, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team attempted 20 more shots than non-conference host Beloit, but the Warriors were unable to find the back of the net as they played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw with the Bucs Wednesday at the Strong Stadium Complex Fields.

Wisconsin Lutheran controlled the action from the opening whistle, out-shooting the Buccaneers 10-4 in the first half. However, Bucs goalkeeper Willow Macy kept WLC off the scoreboard with four first-half saves. Warriors keeper Kate Gucinski (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) had to make just two stops in the opening 45 minutes.

WLC continued its attack in the second half by out-shooting the Bucs 13-2, including a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Warriors were again held scoreless in the period as the game was sent into extra sessions.

The Warriors attempted the only three shots between the two teams through both overtime periods, but had to settle for their second double-overtime draw of the season.

For the game, WLC out-shot BC 26-6 and owned an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Cari Westover (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and Sarah Luebke (Kaukauna, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) each fired four shots to pace WLC. Gucinski made four saves in net.

Erin Chambers led the Buccaneers (3-2-1) with two shots, while Macy made 12 saves to prevent a Warriors victory.

Wisconsin Lutheran (2-5-2) continues non-conference play Saturday when it hosts MacMurray (1-7-0) at Warrior Field. Game time between the Warriors and Highlanders is scheduled for 1 p.m.
