Box Score 2 WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team fell 3-1 to Millikin and 3-0 to Northwestern (Minn.) at the UW-Whitewater Invitational Saturday. The Warriors (3-9, 1-0 NACC) have dropped five straight matches.
WLC dropped the first two sets to Millikin, 25-14 and 25-23, before taking the third set 26-24. The Big Blue took the fourth set 25-11 to win the match.
Senior Erin Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the Warriors with 13 kills. Sophomore Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) finished one dig shy of a double-double with 29 assists and nine digs. Senior Kayla Ridgeman (Jefferson,Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) had a team-high 18 digs and five service aces. Senior Mindy Schalinske (Burlington, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) recorded 13 digs.
Audrey Krajec posted a double-double for Millikin (6-5) with 17 kills and 10 digs. Emily Mihalkanin had a team-high 19 assists. Kelsey Talkington finished with six blocks.
In their second match of the day, the Warriors were defeated 25-16, 25-10, and 25-15 by Northwestern. The Eagles posted an impressive .313 hitting percentage, while WLC hit just .096.
Senior Alayna Greenfield (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the team with eight kills. Hafemeister had 20 assists and Ridgeman paced the Warriors with 17 digs.
Lydia Palkert led the Eagles (4-9) with nine kills. Krista Stoltz had a team-high 22 assists and Lexi Bertsch recorded 11 digs.
WLC returns to action with a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Benedictine (4-4, 1-0 NACC) Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
