Box Score 4 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College volleyball team wrapped-up its 2014 season by finishing with a 1-3 record at the Barker Chevrolet Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan Friday and Saturday at the Shirk Center. WLC finishes the season with an overall 2-23 record and 1-10 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Wisconsin Lutheran dropped both of its matches Friday by 3-0 finals against Lakeland (25-4, 25-21, 25-12) and Illinois College (25-20, 25-16, 25-22).
Haley Feucht (Campbellsport, Wis./Campbellsport) collected seven kills against the Muskies (15-15). Alexis Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) had 18 assists, and Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) had 13 digs.
Feucht contributed 12 kills and Alexis Hafemeister passed out 21 assists versus the Lady Blues (8-17). Wierzbicki recorded 23 digs, while Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) added 16.
WLC opened play Saturday morning by defeating North Park (9-23) in four sets 26-24, 25-27, 25-22, 25-23. Feucht and Carly Warner (Clear Lake, Wis./Clear Lake) tallied 17 and 14 kills, respectively. Alexis Hafemeister dished out 45 assists and totaled 20 digs for a double-double. Feucht, along with Andrea Hafemeister, also added 19 digs for a double-double of her own. Wierzbicki and Jeni Polzin (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) also contributed double-digit dig totals with 17 and 13, respectively.
The weekend concluded with a 3-0 loss to host Illinois Wesleyan (20-11) by scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-20.
Feucht collected a team-best nine kills, while Alexis Hafemeister passed out 23 assists. Wierzbicki led four players in double-digit digs with 25. Polzin and Feucht both had 11, while Bethany Sebald (Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) finished with 10.
