Warriors Compete Against Midwest Region's Top Teams

GREEN LAKE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team competed Friday and Saturday against the region's top teams at the Midwest Region Fall Classic at the Golf Courses of Lawsonia. The Warriors finished 19th out of 31 teams at the event with a two-day score of 647 (319-328).

• The Warriors shot an opening-round 319, good for 14th heading into the second round on Saturday morning. WLC concluded tournament play with a second-round 328 to finish 19th in the 31-team field.
• Mortell carded consecutive round 78s for a 156 to tie with five other players for 30th place.
• Garrett Ralston (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) tied for 40th after putting together rounds of 77 and 81 for a 158.
• Sean Esenberg (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) carded a 78 and 84 to tie for 66th with a two-day 162.
• Pete Kaufmann (Davenport, Iowa/Central) posted a 78 and 86 to tie for 80th with a 164.
• Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis./Tomah) lowered his total by eight strokes from the opening round to close with a 168.
• Tyler Wood (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) rounded out the Warriors' lineup with a 172.
• Millikin won the event with a two-round 600 (301-299). The Big Blue finished just four strokes in front of second-place Edgewood. Blake Westerberg of St. Mary's (Minn.) earned medalist honors with a two-round 143 (68-75) to finish at one-under and lead the massive 167-player field.
