Warriors Fourth At NACC Following Season-Low Round

HAVEN, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its fall season Sunday and Monday with the opening two rounds of the 2018-2019 NACC Men's Golf Championship at Whistling Straits - Irish Course. The Warriors are fourth out of nine teams heading into the final two rounds in the spring after firing a season-low 302 Monday. Stephen Bukielski (Schaumburg, Ill.) is currently two shots off the lead in second place after consecutive 75's.

  • Bukielski led the 41-player field by three shots after his first round 75. He carded another 75 in the second round for a two-round 150 (+6) and is second overall. Ten of Bukielski's 11 rounds this season have come in the 70's.
  • After shooting an 86 in the first round, Derick Disch (Greenfield, Wis.) bounced back in round two carding his second-lowest round of the season (74). He's currently tied for 13th with a 160 (+16).
  • Damon Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) posted a two-round 163 (+19) and stands 19th after tying his lowest round of the year (74) Tuesday. He improved by 15 strokes from the first round.
  • Johnny Kositzky Jr. (Escanaba, Mich.) fired a two-round 166 (+22), while Ben Landvatter (Watertown, Wis.) scored a 170 (+26).
  • Wisconsin Lutheran finished the opening rounds of the championship with a 637 (335-302). The Warriors battled through tough course conditions Monday and are one stroke back of third-place Concordia Wisconsin.
  • WLC's 302 is its lowest round relative to par since April 2, 2017 when it posted a +13 at the Gorlok Spring Invitational.

  • Edgewood leads the championship field by six shots (+40) after being tied for the top spot with Aurora after day one. The Eagles fired the lowest round two score (288).
  • Edgewood's Josh Hentrich is the clubhouse leader at 148 (79-69), just two shots in front of Bukielski.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran will resume its season in the spring with more rounds, including the final two at the NACC Championship April 28-29, 2019 in Aurora, Illinois.
