GALENA, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team placed second out of 11 teams with a 314 on Tuesday at the Clarke Fall Invite on The General course at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. Junior Solomon Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) registered the top Warriors individual finish on the day, carding a 76 for fifth place in the 64-player field. WLC had four players post top-10 finishes at the invite.

- Zarling fired a 76 on the difficult par 72 course to pace the Warriors with a top-five individual finish.
- Senior Johnny Kositzky Jr. (Escanaba, Mich.) finished with a round of 78 and a tie for seventh.
- Juniors Joey Ploch (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and Trey Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) added rounds of 79 and 81, respectively, for Wisconsin Lutheran.
- Junior James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) paced WLC's second squad with a 77 (+5) which gave him a sixth-place finish.
- Sophomore Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.) carded an 80 for the Green and White.
- WLC finished with a team score of 314, eight strokes behind invite champion Mount Mercy.
- Playing a golf course for the first time is always a challenge and couple that with the conditions and wind it proved to be a tall task for the field. - Mount Mercy won the 11-team tournament with a score of 306 (+18). The Mustangs' Colten Mishek earned medalist honors with a 73 (+1).
- The Warriors return home to host the WLC Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. First tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford. Live results will be available for both rounds at WLCSports.com.
