Women's Soccer Clipped By Eagles, 1-0

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team battled the elements and NACC foe Benedictine on Wednesday night at Warriors Soccer Field. After a lengthy weather delay and scoreless first half, the Eagles held off the Warriors 1-0 after a second-half goal in the 62nd minute.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (3-12-1, 2-8-1 NACC), Benedictine (6-12-0, 6-5-0 NACC)
• Location: Warriors Soccer Field, Wauwatosa, Wis.

• The Warriors kept the Eagles off the scoreboard in the first half, as all six shots on goal from the visitors were saved.
• WLC had four chances of its own in the opening 45 minutes, as freshman Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.), senior Maggie Stebbins (Beaver Dam, Wis.), senior Miriam Carreno (San Antonio, Texas), and junior Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.) all placed shots on target. The score remained deadlocked at 0-0 at halftime.
• BenU went ahead 1-0 in the 62nd minute on a 30-yard shot that proved to be the game-winner.
• Wasiak and Carreno again had scoring opportunities in the second half, but their shots in the 55th and 78th minutes were stopped.
• Carreno led Wisconsin Lutheran with five shots, while Wasiak added four. As a team, the Warriors had 14 shots for the game.
• Sophomore Sierra Kannas (Watertown, S.D.) made five saves in the second half and finished with 10 for the match.
• WLC had two corner kicks to just one for Benedictine. Both teams committed 12 fouls.
