Gnewikow Cards Career Low At WLC Spring Invitational

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Junior Trey Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) tied for fourth overall with a career-low 74 to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team on Saturday at the WLC Spring Invitational. The Warriors placed fifth with a score of 309 in the 11-team standings at Morningstar Golfers Club.

• Gnewikow tied for fourth overall in the 60-player field with a career-low round of 74 on the par 72 course. He drained five birdie putts as three other players matched him for the fourth-place tie.
• Junior Joey Ploch (Oconomowoc, Wis.) tied for 13th overall with a 77 (+5).
• Seniors Johnny Kositzky Jr. (Escanaba, Mich.) and Quinn Schultz (Chaseburg, Wis.), and junior James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) posted identical rounds of 79 and tied for 24th.
• The Warriors finished with a team score of 309 for fifth place, as just 11 strokes separated between them and first place.

• Concordia Wisconsin and Edgewood tied for the lowest team score with a 298 (+10). The Eagles' Matthew Davidson earned medalist honors with a three-under 69 to win the tournament by two strokes.

• The Warriors begin a busy week on Monday with the first of five events and the Judson Spring Invitational. Tee time is set for 10:30 a.m. at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois.
