Men's Golf Competes At Carthage Spring Invitational

KENOSHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team competed on Tuesday at the Carthage Spring Invitational at Kenosha Country Club. Junior Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) paced the Warriors with an 81 on the day.

  • Hammer was the top Warriors' player during Tuesday's round, carding an 81 to finish 11-over on the par 70 course for a 19th-place tie in the 67-player field.
  • Sophomore Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.) tied for 39th with an 85 (+15).
  • Sophomore Theo Schmenk (River Falls, Wis.) posted an 88, while sophomore Hans Schultz (Ladysmith, Wis.) and freshman Abel Krauklis (Lake Mills, Wis.) each recorded a 94.
  • The Warriors finished 12th with a team score of 348.

  • Edgewood topped the 12-team tournament field with a team score of 313 (+33), three strokes ahead of runner-up Concordia Wisconsin. Three players shared medalist honors with a 74 (+4) in Edgewood's Josh Hentrich and Jake Schroeckenthaler and Loras' Dominic Leli. 

  • WLC continues its busy five-event week on Thursday with a dual match against St. Norbert. Tee time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Blackwolf Run Golf Course in Kohler.
