Michaelson, Warriors Win Triangular At Blackwolf Run

KOHLER, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Junior James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) shot a 74 to earn medalist honors and the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team defeated St. Norbert and MSOE on Thursday at Blackwolf Run Golf Course. It was the second career win for Michaelson and the seventh as a team for the Warriors this season.

• Michaelson topped the 18-player field with a 74 (+2) to finish two shots ahead of the second-place finisher. He birdied his first two holes and was one-under on the front.
• Senior Johnny Kositzky Jr. (Escanaba, Mich.) carded a 77 for a third-place tie and fellow senior Quinn Schultz (Chaseburg, Wis.) fired a 78 to tie for fifth.
• Junior Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) rounded out the team score of the Warriors with an 80.
• WLC's 309 was two strokes better than St. Norbert's 311. MSOE finished with a 329.

• Keenan Spillum led runner-up St. Norbert with a 75 for a second-place individual finish. The Green Knights shot a 311 to finish two shots behind WLC.

• The Warriors play their final round before the NACC Championship on Saturday at the Forester Spring Invite. Tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m. at White Deer Run Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.
