Hammer Leads Men's Golf At Forester Spring Invite

VERNON HILLS, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team competed on Saturday at the Forester Spring Invite at White Deer Run Golf Club. The Warriors finished ninth with a 356 and were led by junior Grant Hammer's (Germantown Hills, Ill.) round of 82.

• Top WLC Individual: Grant Hammer (+10), T-18th of 43

• Hammer was the top Warriors' finisher on the day, carding an 82 to finish 10-over on the par 72 course for an 18th-place tie.
• Sophomore Theo Schmenk (River Falls, Wis.) tied for 26th with an 86.
• Sophomores Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.) and Hans Schultz (Ladysmith, Wis.) were the final two scorers for WLC with rounds of 93 and 95, respectively. 

• David Morton of Wheaton fired an even-par 72 to claim medalist honors in the 43-player field. Host Lake Forest had three players finish in the top seven and won the team title with a 308.

• The Warriors play the opening round of the 2020-2021 NACC Championship tomorrow at Blackwolf Run Golf Course in Kohler. First tee time of the nine-team tournament is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
