Box Score 2 FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Sophomore Jena Almodovar (Romeoville, Ill.) tossed her first complete game shutout of the season in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday as the Warriors softball team shutout the host Sabres 3-0 at Smith Field. Marian held on for a 1-0 win in game two as the two teams split their NACC weekend series.

- The Warriors and Sabres were locked in a pitcher's duel through four innings. Both teams stranded a pair of runners on base in the second inning and WLC recorded its first hit of the game in the fourth on an Almodovar one-out single.
- Wisconsin Lutheran cracked the scoring column in the fifth with three runs on four hits. Junior Avery Blauvelt (Wellman, Iowa) singled home senior Charolette Ropas (New Berlin, Wis.) with one out for the game's first run. Freshman Bri Biermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) followed with a single to right that plated Blauvelt, and freshman Ashley Corley (Plainfield, Ill.) had the third straight hit in the inning, a RBI triple that scored Biermann for the 3-0 lead.
- Marian put two runners on with two outs in its last at-bat, but the Green and White escaped with no runs allowed.
- Almodovar won her eighth game of the season in the circle after tossing her first complete game shutout of the season. She scattered five hits and walked two.
- Six players each tallied one hit in the game for the Warriors, while Corley and Biermann were credited with RBIs
- Game two also featured limited offense as Warriors freshman starter Kacey Meitsner (Elwood, Ill.) stranded six Sabres baserunners through the first three innings of a scoreless game.
- The Sabres scored the game's lone run in the sixth inning after back-to-back two-out doubles drove a run home.
- WLC had a runner reach third base in both the third and seventh inning, but was unable to come through with a key two-out hit.
- Meitsner suffered the tough-luck loss after tossing six innings and allowing the one run across seven hits.
- Freshman Lexi Martin (Westfield, Ind.) recorded three of Wisconsin Lutheran's four hits in the game.
- Julia Corona collected two of the Sabres' five hits in game one. Paige Rauhut allowed three earned runs on nine hits over seven innings to suffer the loss.
- Kaley Ludvigsen and Katy Croeker had two hits apiece for MU in the nightcap. Emalee Depa won her eighth game in the circle and Rauhut notched her first save.
