(WLCSports.com) – Senior Maggie Stebbins (Beaver Dam, Wis.) scored her first goal of the season in the 52nd minute to even the score at 1-1, but visiting Marian proceeded to score three goals the rest of the way as the Sabres defeated the Warriors 4-1 on Wednesday night in the NACC opener for both teams at Warriors Soccer Field.

- The Warriors had a pair of early scoring chances in the 3rd minute of the match, but shots from senior Miriam Carreno (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were saved.
- WLC placed three more shots in target, including two from Miller and a shot off the crossbar from junior Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.), before the Sabres struck for the first goal of the contest in the 29th minute.
- Wisconsin Lutheran went into halftime trailing 1-0 despite out-shooting Marian 10-7, including 6-3 in shots on frame.
- The Green and White knotted the score at 1-1 in the 52nd minute when Stebbins took a cross from Miller and found the lower left corner of the goal.
- MU went ahead 2-1 in the 60th minute and added insurance in the 64th and 85th for the 4-1 final.
- Miller, who totaled six of the Warriors' 18 shots in the contest, recorded her first career assist. Stebbins also tallied her first goal of the year.
