JANESVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team set a program record for their lowest two-round tournament score, as they finished just one shot out of first place at the Edgewood Fall Classic on Friday and Saturday at Glen Erin Golf Club. Seniors Solomon Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) and James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) tied for second and eighth overall for the Warriors, respectively.

- Zarling tied for second overall in the field of 88 players with a two-over 144. He fired a 73 on Friday and an even-par 71 on Saturday to finish just two shots out of first place.
- Michaelson tied for eighth at five-over with his two-round 147. He lowered his total by three strokes on Saturday after recording a 75 on Friday.
- Senior Joey Ploch (Oconomowoc, Wis.) tied for 19th with a two-round 151. He followed Friday's opening round 79 with a 72 on Saturday.
- Senior Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) tied for 29th with a 155 (74-81) and senior Trey Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) made the biggest leap, lowering his total from an 87 to a 78 on Saturday.
- WLC's two-round 594 (301-293) was a program record and Saturday's final round score is the second-lowest round relative to par (+9) in program history.
- "We had a goal entering the event to play ourselves into the final group on Saturday and after we accomplished that we had a goal to shoot the lowest round on Saturday and also accomplished that. I'm really proud of the effort throughout the lineup and am looking forward to see how we play against a great field next week. - The Warriors will compete next weekend in the Midwest Region Fall Classic at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois. Tee time for the opening round on Friday is set for 11:30 a.m.
