DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College and St. Norbert settled for a 1-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference draw on Wednesday at Schneider Stadium. The result was the Warriors' first draw against the Green Knights in their fifth all-time meeting.
The Warriors (7-3-3, 4-2-2 NACC) took a 1-0 lead over the Green Knights (6-5-5, 5-1-3 NACC) in the 14th minute on junior
Tony Bedolla's (Joliet, Ill.) third goal of the season, assisted by senior KJ McNealey Jr. (Milwaukee, Wis.). Soon after the go-ahead score, played was delayed for nearly 35 minutes due to lightening.Â
SNC evened the score at 1-1 in the 34th minute on a goal from John O'Connor, assisted by Tomas Pazos. The scored remained 1-1 at halftime, despite St. Norbert out-shooting WLC 13-3.
Wisconsin Lutheran had one shot on frame in the second half, coming from freshman
Cameron Jochimsen (Freedom, Wis.) in the 61st minute. Senior
Jason Cano (Delavan, Wis.) nearly netted the game-winner for the Warriors with just 0:16 seconds left, but his shot caromed off the right post. Junior
Puma Galvan (Racine, Wis.) made five saves in the second half to preserve the conference draw.
Cano and Jochimsen had two shots each for WLC, which finished with eight for the match. Galvan tallied nine saves in 90 minutes of action in net.
Joe Meade collected six of the Green Knights' 22 shots. Daniel Yurk made a pair of saves.
