Women's Soccer Edged By Green Knights

Wasiak nets first goal of the season

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College was edged by St. Norbert 2-1 on Wednesday at Warriors Soccer Field.

The Warriors (4-10-0, 2-7-0 NACC) played through a scoreless first half with the Green Knights (6-9-0, 5-4-0 NACC) despite the visitors out-shooting the hosts 12-3.

SNC took a 1-0 lead four minutes into the second half on a goal from Haley Leadingham assisted by Mallory Names. The contest stood 1-0 until the 89th minute when St. Norbert's Abby Thompson made it 2-0 on an unassisted score.

WLC didn't go away without an answer, however, as senior Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.) netted her first goal of the season with just 0:13 seconds left on the clock. Freshman Emilie Bartlett (Olathe, Kan.) assisted on the goal.

Wisconsin Lutheran finished with five shots, led by two from Wasiak. Junior goalkeeper Christian Casimir (Kaukauna, Wis.) made nine saves.

Leadingham led the Green Knights with six shots and goalkeeper Lilly Collins made one stop.

The Warriors play their final home game of the 2022 season on Saturday against Concordia Chicago (3-5-4, 3-4-2 NACC). Kickoff time for the Senior Day match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Warriors Soccer Field. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
