WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College and Concordia Chicago played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Warriors Soccer Field.
The Warriors (4-10-1, 1-7-1 NACC), who honored seniors
Elena Velasquez (Milwaukee, Wis.),
Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.),
Sierra Kannas (Watertown, S.D.), and
Desareih Juarez (Waukegan, Ill.) during a halftime ceremony, played to their first tie of the season against the Cougars (3-5-5, 3-4-3 NACC).
Both teams tallied five shots in the first half, with CUC putting three of them on frame compared to two for WLC. Concordia Chicago narrowly out-shot Wisconsin Lutheran 7-5 in the second half, including 6-3 in shots on goal.Â
Junior
Christian Casimir (Kaukauna, Wis.) made nine saves in the match to collect her fourth shutout of the season. Wasiak led Wisconsin Lutheran with four shots, while sophomore
Xiomara Garcia (Milwaukee, Wis.) placed both of her shots on target.
Jordyn Gosell had three shots for the Cougars, who finished with a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. Kassie Silenzi made five saves in net.
The Warriors play their final three matches of the 2022 season on the road, starting Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Benedictine (5-9-2, 2-4-2 NACC) in Lisle, Illinois. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
