Elena Velasquez (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman
Brooke Bluhm (New Berlin, Wis.) scored first-half goals to lead Wisconsin Lutheran College to a 2-0 win over Rockford on Saturday at Wedgbury Stadium.
The Warriors (5-11-1, 2-8-1 NACC) received a pair of unassisted first-half goals from Velasquez (3') and Bluhm (13') to account for all of the scoring in the match with Regents (3-13-0, 0-11-0 NACC). The scores were the 13th and fourth on the season for the tandem, respectively.Â
WLC out-shot RU 8-2 in the first half, as all six of its shots of frame came over the first 45 minutes of play. Rockford held a 4-2 edge in second-half shots, and two of its three shots on goal came in the final 0:15 seconds of the match.
Bluhm led Wisconsin Lutheran with four shots, while Velasquez and freshman
Emilie Bartlett (Olathe, Kan.) had three apiece. Junior goalkeeper
Christian Casimir (Kaukauna, Wis.) stopped three shots in the second half to pickup her fifth shutout of the season.
Mia Ostler led the Regents with two shots and goalkeeper Elizabeth Eilson made four first-half saves.
