Marian Sweeps WLC In NACC Opener

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep to Marian in its NACC-opening match on Tuesday night inside the Recreation Complex. The visiting Sabres defeated the host Warriors by scores of 25-7, 25-6, and 25-13.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-8, 0-1 NACC), Marian (13-2, 2-0 NACC)
• Location: Recreation Complex, Milwaukee, Wis.

• The Sabres jumped out to a 10-2 lead over the Warriors in the first set. MU, which hit a match-high .625 in the first stanza, used a pair of five-point runs to win the opening set 25-7.
• WLC fell behind 13-3 in set two and Marian went on a 7-1 scoring run late in the set to go ahead 2-0 after a 25-6 win.
• Wisconsin Lutheran trailed 3-2 early in the third set, but a 7-2 scoring run by the Sabres put them in front by six. MU led by as many as 13 before taking the third set 25-13.
• Junior Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.) led the Warriors with four kills. Freshman Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) and sophomore Isaac Stellick (Taichung, Taiwan) had four assists apiece.
• Senior Logan Ascher (Waukesha, Wis.) led the team with five digs.
