Wisconsin Lutheran Falls To Crosstown NACC Foe MSOE

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's volleyball team fell in a three-set match to NACC foe MSOE on Friday night inside Hotchkin Arena. The Raiders defeated the Warriors by scores of 25-11, 25-14, and 25-18.

• Final Score: MSOE 3, Wisconsin Lutheran 0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-18)
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-9, 0-2 NACC), MSOE (5-1, 1-0 NACC)
• Location: Hotchkin Arena, Milwaukee, Wis.

• The Warriors never led in the first set, but kept it close after a kill from senior Logan Ascher (Waukesha, Wis.) made the score 6-5. A 9-1 run by the Raiders put them in front by a score of 15-6. MSOE won the opening set 25-11.
• WLC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second set following an ace from freshman Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.). The Raiders answered with four straight points and extended their lead to 18-9 before winning the second set 25-14.
• A tightly-contested third set featured three ties and two lead changes as neither led by more than four points at a combined 32 points into the set. Wisconsin Lutheran trailed just 11-9, 17-14, and 19-16 before MSOE scored five in a row and won the set 25-18.
• Ascher and sophomore Grant Wempner (Garden Grove, Calif.) tied a team-high with four kills each. Thammavongsa recorded 12 assists and junior Matthew Miskowski (La Crosse, Wis.) and sophomore Logan Gryzwa (Delafield, Wis.) tallied six digs each. Wempner added two block assists. 

• The Warriors have a short turnaround as they travel to Lisle, Illinois tomorrow for a 1 p.m. NACC match against Benedictine (4-4, 2-0 NACC). Live coverage links will be available for the contest at WLCSports.com.
