Men's Volleyball Suffers Road Loss To Regents

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's volleyball team suffered its first road loss of the season on Tuesday night, dropped a three-set non-conference match to Rockford inside the Seaver Center. 

• Final Score: Rockford 3, Wisconsin Lutheran 0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-16)
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-5), Rockford (1-6)
• Location: Seaver Center, Rockford, Ill.

• The Warriors fell behind 4-1 early but came back to take a 6-5 lead over the Regents in the first set. RU responded with a five-point run but WLC was able to trim its deficit to three points twice. Trailing 21-14, Wisconsin Lutheran scored three in a row, but it wasn't enough as Rockford took the opening set 25-19.
• The Green and White jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second set, but the Regents went on an 11-2 scoring run to grab a six-point lead. The hosts extended their lead to 20-9 and built a game-high 23-10 lead before winning the second set 25-14.
• The Warriors held a 4-2 lead early in the third set, but RU rallied for a 10-3 scoring run to take the lead for good. WLC trailed 16-9, but climbed back into the set with a 7-3 run. Rockford scored the final six points of the set for a 25-16 set three win.
• Junior Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.) recorded a career-high nine kills as the Warriors posted 22 as a team.
• Freshman Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) dished out 18 assists and tallied eight digs, both season highs.
• Junior Matthew Miskowski (La Crosse, Wis.) also tied a career high with eight digs.

• The Warriors travel to Plymouth on Thursday for a pair of non-conference matches against Lakeland (0-1) with first serve scheduled for 5:40 p.m. Live coverage links will be available for both contests at WLCSports.com.
