Men's Volleyball Falls Short Against Falcons

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's volleyball team returned home for its first match in over two weeks on Saturday afternoon, falling to NACC rival Concordia Wisconsin 3-0 inside the Recreation Complex.

• Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 3, Wisconsin Lutheran 0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-12)
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-22, 0-10 NACC), Concordia Wisconsin (10-9, 6-3 NACC)
• Location: Recreation Complex, Milwaukee, Wis.

• The Warriors fell behind 5-1 in the first set and couldn't recover. The Falcons built a 14-3 advantage and a string of three points in a row brought WLC to within eight. CUW won the opening set 25-12.
• The start of the second set featured seven ties as the score was knotted at 8-8. Concordia Wisconsin scored the next three points and pulled ahead 18-11. Wisconsin Lutheran netted three straight points late in the set, but the Falcons came away with a 25-17 victory in set two.
• The Green and White grabbed a 3-1 lead early in the third set following a kill from junior Joe Flett (St. Anthony, Minn.). CUW answered with a 10-2 scoring run to take a six-point lead. The Warriors couldn't get any closer than five points the rest of the way as Concordia Wisconsin took set three 25-12.
• Freshman James Biedenbender (La Crosse, Wis.) led WLC with six kills, a season high, 15 assists, and three block assists.
• Senior Logan Ascher (Waukesha, Wis.) added five kills, while Flett contributed five digs and two total blocks.
• Wisconsin Lutheran recorded season highs for hitting percentage (.160) and total blocks (six).
