Box Score 2 DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Sophomore Lexi Martin (Westfield, Ind.) recorded seven hits and drove in four runs to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College softball team to a NACC-opening split with St. Norbert on Friday afternoon at the Mel Nicks Sports Complex. The Warriors dropped the opener 13-9 before winning 12-7 in the nightcap.

- The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Martin singled home senior Gracie Wilson (Deerfield, Wis.) from third.
- The Green Knights scored two runs on two hits in their half of the first to take a one-run lead into the second inning.
- WLC evened the score at 2-2 with two outs in the second when Wilson singled home freshman Faith Ottens (Fulton, Ill.).
- After a scoreless bottom of the second, Wisconsin Lutheran took its second lead of the game in the third inning when sophomore Bre Hoy (McHenry, Ill.) drove in Martin with a RBI single.
- SNC put up a crooked number in the third, scoring six runs on just three hits to take a five-run lead.
- The Green and White chipped away at its deficit by plating three runs on four hits its next half-inning. Freshman Taylor Peterson (Beloit, Wis.) and senior Katie Scott (Sallisaw, Okla.) recorded run-scoring singles in the frame to close within 8-6.
- St. Norbert answered with two runs on three hits in its half of the fourth inning to extend its lead back to four runs.
- The Warriors came within a run in the fifth inning when they scored three times. A single from Peterson, a groundout from Martin, and a sacrifice fly from freshman Makayla Huff (Galesburg, Ill.) drove in runs bringing the visitors within just one at 10-9.
- WLC stranded a pair of runners in scoring position in the sixth after keeping the Green Knights off the scoreboard in their half of the fifth.
- SNC added three insurance runs in the sixth to grab a four-run advantage at 13-9 and Wisconsin Lutheran was kept off the scoreboard for just the second time in the game in the seventh inning.
- The Green and White finished with 14 hits in the opener, as Wilson, Martin, and Hoy had three hits apiece. Peterson, Martin, and Scott drove in two runs each, while Wilson, Martin, Ottens, and senior Aerin Moberg (Wheaton, Ill.) scored twice.
- The Warriors stranded 11 runners on base and were plagued by four fielding errors.
- The Warriors scored three first-inning runs as six straight batters reached safely after two outs. Martin scored on an error that allowed Huff to reach safely and Hoy followed with a two-run double to give the visitors an early lead.
- The Green Knights got two of those runs back with a two-out, two-RBI single in their half of the first.

- SNC had its first two batters reach in the seventh, but the Warriors escaped any damage with a groundout and game-ending double play.
- Martin went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored for WLC in the nightcap. Wilson, Ottens, and Peterson posted two hits each, with Wilson and Ottens adding three runs each.
- Freshman Olivia Plewa (Greenfield, Wis.) picked up her fourth win of the season and freshman Callie Terrill (Minooka, Ill.) nailed down her first collegiate save.
