Warriors Close Out Season At Edgewood Quadrangular

MIDDLETON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's golf team played its final round of the 2021-2022 season on Friday at the Edgewood Quadrangular. The Warriors finished third with a 313 and were led by senior Solomon Zarling's (West Bend, Wis.) two-over 74.

• WLC Team: 3rd of 4 (+25)
• Top WLC Individual: Solomon Zarling (+2), 4th of 31

• Zarling led the Warriors in his final event with a two-over 74 to finish fourth in the field of 31 players. He played his first 16 holes at one-under par.
• Seniors James Michaelson (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Joey Ploch (Oconomowoc, Wis.), along with freshman Kale Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.), who was playing as an individual, tied for 10th with a trio of 79s.
• Freshman Luke Movrich (Appleton, Wis.) carded an 81 and senior Trey Gnewikow (Warrens, Wis.) posted an 83.
• Junior Theo Schmenk (River Falls, Wis.) and senior Grant Hammer (Germantown Hills, Ill.) finished with rounds of 86 and 88, respectively. 
• The event marked the final round in the careers of WLC's five seniors; Trey Gnewikow, Hammer, Michaelson, Ploch, and Zarling.

• "These five seniors have raised the bar for what is expected in our program of performance on the golf course, leadership among their peers, and success in the classroom. It is always hard to say goodbye to a senior but to have five of them the caliber of Trey, Grant, James, Joey, and Sol makes it really difficult. Their legacy and impact will last far beyond the end of their playing careers. It has been such an honor to go through this journey with these fine young men.
