Foresters Spoil Warriors' Season Opener

Casimir makes eight saves in WLC debut

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to visiting Lake Forest on Thursday in the 2022 season opener for both sides at Uihlein Soccer Park.

The Foresters found the back of the net first in the 18th minute of the first half on their first shot on frame. LFC held the one-goal advantage through halftime, as Warriors' junior goalkeeper Christian Casimir (Kaukauna, Wis.) made a pair of stops in the opening 45 minutes.

Lake Forest added insurance in the second half with three goals coming in the 65', 77', and 78' minutes for the four-goal margin. After being held without a shot in the first period, WLC placed four of its five shots on frame in the second half, including two from senior Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.).

Wasiak and freshman Emilie Bartlett (Olathe, Kan.) had two shots apiece in the contest. Casimir finished with eight stops in her debut for Wisconsin Lutheran.

The Warriors (0-1-0) next host Beloit (1-0-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Warriors Soccer Field. Live coverage links for the non-conference contest will be available at WLCSports.com.
