Warriors Battle To Stalemate With Rival Falcons

WLC extends unbeaten streak to four

MEQUON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College battled to a 1-1 draw with NACC rival Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday at Fitting Field. The result was the Warriors' first tie since 2020 and their second against the Falcons in the last four meetings.

The Warriors (5-1-1, 2-0-1 NACC) wasted little time taking the lead as senior KJ McNealey Jr. (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored just over one minute into the match for his sixth goal of the season. Senior Jason Cano (Delavan, Wis.) assisted on the score as WLC struck first for the seventh time this year.

The Falcons (4-0-3, 1-0-2 NACC) evened the match with just 0:08 seconds left on the first-half clock on a goal from Nick Hummel, assisted by Ivan Cuellar. Both teams had three additional chances in the opening 45 minutes, but were turned away.

WLC put five shots on frame in the second half, compared to just one for CUW but the match remained deadlocked at 1-1 when the final horn sounded.

Wisconsin Lutheran out-shot Concordia Wisconsin 17-15 and held a 7-6 edge on corner kicks. Cano collected a team-high four shots

Sophomore Bryce Beckley (Waterford, Wis.) made three saves in the first half, while junior Puma Galvan (Racine, Wis.) made one in the second.

The Warriors travel to Dominican (5-1-1, 2-1-0 NACC) on Saturday for a 12 p.m. NACC match in River Forest, Illinois. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
