WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College suffered a 4-0 non-conference loss to Carroll on Thursday night at Schneider Stadium.
The Pioneers (2-0-0) scored three first-half goals, including the first in the 15th minute by Elizabeth Weinburg. Grace Tumilty scored on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, and Maci Bernier scored just 0:30 before halftime for a 3-0 CU lead. Weinburg scored her second goal of the contest in the 59th minute to conclude the scoring for Carroll.Â
The Pioneers outshot WLC 25-2 and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. Isabel Kothe led CU with six shots and Jessica Stepien assisted on a pair of scores.
Freshmen
Ava Thiesfeldt (Greenville, Wis.) and
Emilie Bartlett (Olathe, Kan.) each tallied a shot on goal for the Warriors (1-3-0). Junior
Christian Casimir (Kaukauna, Wis.) stopped 10 shots across 90 minutes in goal.
