MAHWAH, N.J. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College suffered its first loss of the 2023 season on Saturday, falling 3-0 in non-conference action to Ramapo at the Bradley Center.
The Warriors (2-1) were defeated in three sets by the Roadrunners (1-1) by scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-20. WLC never led during the first two sets, before claiming its first lead over RC in the match early in the third set.
Wisconsin Lutheran was held to a .038 hitting percentage on 17 kills, 14 errors, and 79 total attacks. Junior
Grant Wempner (Garden Grove, Calif.) hit a team-high .833 on five kills for the Warriors. Sophomore
Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) led the team with eight assists and nine digs.Â
Andrew Finnegan and Sean Nieves had 14 and 12 kills, respectively, for Ramapo. The Roadrunners hit .340 for the match behind 45 kills, 13 errors, and 94 attempts.
