MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College couldn't capitalize on a fast start in a 3-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss to St. Norbert on Wednesday at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (7-12, 3-4 NACC) fell to the Green Knights (12-10, 5-2 NACC) in four sets by scores of 25-27, 25-22, 25-17, 25-13. WLC overcame a four-point deficit late in the first set, which featured 13 ties and seven lead changes. Wisconsin Lutheran avoided set point twice and scored the last three points for the opening-set victory. The Warriors, who were held .033 hitting with 34 kills, 29 errors, and 152 attempts also held an 18-15 lead in set two, but SNC rattled off seven straight points to take the set.
Freshman
Shannon Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) led WLC with a season-high nine kills. Junior
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) dished out a team-high 15 assists, while junior
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) posted her second straight double-double of 11 assists and 10 digs, in addition to tying a team high with three service aces.
Sophomore
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) tallied a team-high four blocks assists, while junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) collected a team-best 15 digs to go along with three service aces. Sophomore
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) added 10 digs.
