Stars Snap Warriors' Three-Game Winning Streak

Espinoza Jr. scores for second time this season

RIVER FOREST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College had its three-game winning streak snapped by Dominican, 3-1, on Saturday at West Campus Field.

The Warriors (8-4-2, 6-3-0 NACC), who allowed three goals to an opponent for just the second time this season, fell to the Stars (9-3-2, 6-1-2 NACC) in a matchup of two of the top four teams in the NACC.

DU got in the scoreboard first in the 16th minute on a goal from Narcizo Ibarra-Rodriguez on an assist from Ciaran Geraghty. Oscar Montejano gave the hosts a 2-0 halftime lead with a penalty kick goal in the 30th minute.

Despite WLC outshooting Dominican 9-3 and 3-0 in shots on goal in the second half, Geraghty gave the Stars a 3-0 advantage in the 65th minute. Wisconsin Lutheran finally broke through in the 86th minute on freshman Francisco Espinoza Jr.'s (Sheboygan, Wis.) second goal of the year.

Senior Ben Meaux (Franklin, Wis.) and freshman Hector Cervantes (Milwaukee, Wis.) tallied four shots each for the Warriors, who finished with 12 for the game. Senior Puma Galvan (Racine, Wis.) made five saves.

The Warriors remain on the road for their next game, traveling to Aurora (10-3-3, 7-0-2 NACC) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. NACC matchup. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
