RIVER FOREST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College had its three-game winning streak snapped by Dominican, 3-1, on Saturday at West Campus Field.
The Warriors (8-4-2, 6-3-0 NACC), who allowed three goals to an opponent for just the second time this season, fell to the Stars (9-3-2, 6-1-2 NACC) in a matchup of two of the top four teams in the NACC.
DU got in the scoreboard first in the 16th minute on a goal from Narcizo Ibarra-Rodriguez on an assist from Ciaran Geraghty. Oscar Montejano gave the hosts a 2-0 halftime lead with a penalty kick goal in the 30th minute.
Despite WLC outshooting Dominican 9-3 and 3-0 in shots on goal in the second half, Geraghty gave the Stars a 3-0 advantage in the 65th minute. Wisconsin Lutheran finally broke through in the 86th minute on freshman
Francisco Espinoza Jr.'s (Sheboygan, Wis.) second goal of the year.
