WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference sweep over Rockford on Saturday at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (9-15, 5-7 NACC), who honored seniors
Courtney Andras (Oxford, Mich.) and
Elise Meier (Watertown, Wis.) after the match, collected their first home sweep of the season by defeating the Regents (7-15, 2-10 NACC) for the ninth straight time by scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.
WLC, which hit .209 with 45 kills, 17 errors, and 134 attempts, was led by sophomore
Kayla Wigley's (Milwaukee, Wis.) eight kills. Junior
Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) and sophomores
Hannah Vriezen (Marion, Iowa) and
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) added seven kills apiece. Halliburton also served up a career-high four aces along with two block assists.
Juniors
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) and
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) tallied 18 and 16 assists, respectively.
Junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) led all players with a match-high 19 digs. Andras finished with nine digs, while Wigley and freshman
Shannon Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) recorded eight apiece.
Wisconsin Lutheran wraps up its regular season slate with two road matches next week, beginning on Thursday with a 7 p.m. NACC contest at Lakeland (13-11, 8-4 NACC). Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
