PLYMOUTH, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College dropped its final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match of the season 3-1 to Lakeland on Thursday at Woltzen Gymnasium. Junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) became the Warriors' single season service aces leader with her 63rd ace of the year in the first set of tonight's match.
WLC (9-16, 5-8 NACC), which lost its fourth match of the season after winning the opening set, fell to the Muskies (14-11, 9-4 NACC) by scores of 21-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-21. Wisconsin Lutheran was held to its second-lowest hitting percentage of the season (-.007), finishing with 29 kills, 30 errors, and 140 attempts.
Sophomores
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) and
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) tallied six kills apiece to lead the Warriors. Junior
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) recorded team highs of 18 assists and three service aces.
Freshman
Johanna Andreae (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) amassed a season-best six total blocks for WLC, while Halliburton and junior
Amahra Matthai (Plover, Wis.) added four block assists each. Gnabasik and freshman
Shannon Rusch (Edgerton, Wis.) tied a team high with 11 digs apiece.
