WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College remained unbeaten at Warriors Soccer Field this season following a 2-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win over Benedictine on Saturday.
The Warriors (7-3-2, 5-2-0 NACC), who notched their first win over the Eagles (2-8-1, 1-5-1 NACC) since 2012, upped their record on their home turf to 5-0-1 in 2023.
WLC and BenU played through a scoreless first half, despite the hosts outshooting the visitors 7-3. Senior
Tony Bedolla (Joliet, Ill.) had his 4th-minute penalty kick attempt denied by Benedictine goalkeeper Mateo Reyes as the contest was kept scoreless.
Wisconsin Lutheran broke through in the 55th minute of the second half for the game's first goal. Sophomore

Hector Cervantes (Milwaukee, Wis.) inside the far post for his first collegiate goal.
The Eagles evened the contest at 1-1 in the 62nd minute on a goal from Joseph Duarte assisted by Habtamu Kruiswyk.Â
Cervantes drew a foul just outside the box in the 85th minute, and his ensuing free kick was deflected by a BenU defender, but caromed to sophomore
Victor Moreno (Racine, Wis.) who netted the game-winner for his first goal of the season.
Bedolla tallied seven shots to lead the Warriors, who outshot Benedictine 19-4. Cervantes also collected four shots. Senior
Puma Galvan (Racine, Wis.) made a pair of saves in net.
