MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College was defeated by defending conference champion Dominican 3-0 on Saturday in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at the Time of Grace Center.
The Warriors (4-18, 0-8 NACC) fell in three sets to the Stars (7-10, 4-4 NACC) by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.
DU used an 8-0 scoring run to break free from a 17-17 deadlocked score, the eighth tie of the first set, for a 25-17 win. WLC scored the first six points of the second set, but six straight points from Dominican gave them its first lead at 11-8. The Stars closed the set on an 8-1 run to pull away from a narrow 17-16 lead. Wisconsin Lutheran held an 8-7 lead in the third set, but a 7-1 scoring run put DU ahead 14-9. The Warriors would get no closer the rest of the way.

Drew Wempner (West Allis, Wis.) and junior
Grant Wempner (Garden Grove, Calif.) led WLC with five kills each.
Grant Wempner served up a season and match-high four aces. Sophomore
Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) registered 15 assists. Defensively, freshman
Connor Haeuser (West Bend, Wis.) collected seven digs. Wisconsin Lutheran finished the match with 20 kills, 21 errors, and 81 total attacks.
Jarod Hesse and Aaron Marrs paced Dominican with nine kills apiece. The Stars hit .321 with 39 kills, 13 errors, and 81 attempts.
