MEQUON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College began its final road stretch of the season with a 3-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference setback to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday at R. John Buuck Field House.
The Warriors (4-20, 0-10 NACC), who played on the road for the first time since March 11, were defeated by the Falcons (14-8, 8-2 NACC) in three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.
WLC, which never led during the first two sets, held a 7-2 lead in the third set. CUW responded with an 11-2 scoring run, following by another six-point rally to erase the deficit.Â
Freshman
Drew Wempner (West Allis, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with seven kills and three total blocks. Sophomore
Jay Thammavongsa (Franklin, Wis.) tallied a team-high 10 assists to go along with seven digs. Freshman
Trevor Salutric (Lockport, Ill.) recorded a team-high nine digs. Junior
Grant Wempner (Garden Grove, Calif.) served up both of the team's service aces. The Warriors hit -.182 with 15 kills, 29 errors, and 77 total attacks.
Spencer Herman finished with nine kills, while Lucas Beres had four service aces and six total blocks for Concordia Wisconsin. The Falcons hit .173 with 29 kills, 16 errors, and 75 attempts.
