Ashley Corley (Plainfield, Ill.) collected six hits, including the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning of game one, as Wisconsin Lutheran College split a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader with Rockford on Friday at Neumann Family Field. The Warriors won the opener, 4-3, before dropping game two 12-2 in six innings.
WLC (9-13, 2-6 NACC) took a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning of the opener. With two outs, Corley tripled home freshman
Emily Cardenas (Lake Stevens, Wash.) and sophomore
Makayla Huff (Galesburg, Ill.) followed with a RBI double that plated Corley.
RU (9-17, 2-8 NACC) evened the score in the second with two runs on two hits, but Wisconsin Lutheran went in front 3-2 in the third on Corley's RBI single that brought home junior
Lexi Martin (Westfield, Ind.).
Rockford, which stranded 13 runners on base in the first game, capitalized on a two-out error in the sixth inning to tie the contest again at 3-3. In the last of the seventh, the Warriors had runners on first and second with two outs when Corley came through with a RBI single to score freshman pinch runner

Corley finished 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored WLC, while Cardenas went 2-for-4 with a run. Sophomore
Melissa Tonn (West Allis, Wis.) pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn her sixth win of the season in the circle.
The Regents scored a run in the second inning on a rundown and another in the fourth on a RBI single for a 2-0 game two lead. Wisconsin Lutheran cut the deficit in half in its half of the fourth with a two-out RBI single from sophomore

RU broke the game open with 10 runs on eight hits over its next two innings, as the game ended after six via run-rule. The Warriors' final run came in the fifth inning when Huff singled home Cardenas.
Cardenas and Corley each went 2-for-3 with a run scored for WLC in the nightcap.
