DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College suffered its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss on Sunday, falling 7-2 to St. Norbert at Green Bay Tennis Center.
The Warriors (8-10, 4-1 NACC), who saw their five-match winning streak come to an end, dropped all three doubles matches to the Green Knights (8-6, 4-1 NACC) by identical 8-3 scores.
Freshman
Zadic Torline (Shawnee, Kan.) picked up WLC's first win at No. 4 singles where he defeated SNC's Brian Coulter in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Senior
Josh Hennen (Slinger, Wis.) prevailed over Josh Brown at No. 6 singles in three sets by scores of 0-6, 6-2, 7-6.Â
Sophomore Aiden Newberg (Manitowoc, Wis.) and junior
Bryce Halvorsen (Kewaskum, Wis.) both suffered tough three-set defeats at No. 1 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Newberg fell to Brett Daniels 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, while Halvorsen came up short against David Vandenberg 6-0, 6-7, 6-2.
Wisconsin Lutheran continues conference play next Friday, April 7 at home against Edgewood (2-3, 0-0 NACC). First serve is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Tennis and Fitness Club.
