Bluhm's Brace Sends Women's Soccer To NACC Road Win

Sophomore leads the league with 10 goals

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College came away with a 2-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference road win over Rockford on Saturday behind sophomore Brooke Bluhm's (New Berlin, Wis.) two goals.

The Warriors (4-1-1, 1-1-0 NACC), who improved to a perfect 14-0 all-time against the Regents (3-3-0, 0-2-0 NACC), connected on one of their two shots on goal in the first half.

After having her shot on frame turned away in the 9th minute, Bluhm found the back of the net six minutes later on an assist from junior Jovanka Novakovich (Muskego, Wis.). WLC held onto its 1-0 lead until the 43rd minute when RU's Daisy Martinez evened the score just before halftime.

Bluhm broke the 1-1 deadlock in the 72nd minute of the second half when junior Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.) provided the assist. Freshman goalkeeper Kallista Street (Kenosha, Wis.) stopped six Rockford shots in the final frame, include two over the last five minutes to preserve the win.

Bluhm led all players with six shots and Miller finished with five, as Wisconsin Lutheran out-shot the Regents 17-10. The Warriors also owned a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Street saved seven shots for her second win of the season.

Up next, WLC travels to Mequon on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. NACC match against Concordia Wisconsin (1-3-2, 0-1-1 NACC). Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
