LISLE, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College concluded its opening weekend at the Benedictine Eagle Classic with a split against Loras and Lake Forest at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The Warriors (1-2) swept the Duhawks (1-1) in their first match of the day by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19. WLC hit an impressive .255 behind 42 kills with 18 errors in 94 total attempts.Â
Sophomore
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) led WLC with a match-high 11 kills. Sophomore
Bailey Halliburton (Germantown, Wis.) added a career-high 10 kills for a .563 hitting percentage. Juniors
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) and
Emma Incaprero (Mauston, Wis.) dished out 18 and 12 assists, respectively. Incaprero also tied a career high with five service aces. Defensively, sophomore
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) tallied a match-high nine digs for Wisconsin Lutheran.
The Foresters (3-0) swept the Warriors in their second match of the afternoon by scores of 26-24, 25-15, 25-20. WLC hit .049 on 36 kills with 31 errors in 102 attempts. Sophomore
Lily Schuetz (Lake Mills, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with a career and match-high nine kills. Valerio and Incaprero tied for a match high with 14 assists each. Gnabasik also notched a match-high 14 digs.Â
