WHEATON, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its up season-opening four-game road trip with a 3-0 setback to Wheaton on Wednesday in non-conference play at King Arena.
The Warriors (1-3) fell to the Thunder (2-3) by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-15. WLC, which hit .143 for the match, finished with 33 kills on 19 errors in 98 total swings. WC concluded the contest hitting .299 with 37 kills on just eight errors and 97 total attempts.
Freshman
Margie Stevens (Oneida, Wis.) and sophomore
Kayla Wigley (Milwaukee, Wis.) led Wisconsin Lutheran with seven kills apiece. Stevens posted a team-high .429 attack percentage while setting a season-high for kills. Junior
Karah Valerio (Pewaukee, Wis.) tallied a team-high 17 assists. Junior
Kylee Gnabasik (Jefferson, Wis.) also recorded a season-best 15 digs.
The Warriors play their first home matches of the season this weekend when they host the two-day WLC Quad inside the Time of Grace Center. WLC hosts Dubuque (4-1)Â in its first match on Friday at 6 p.m. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
