WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College broke open a scoreless game with a pair of second-half goals en route to a 2-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win over Concordia Chicago on Saturday at Warriors Soccer Field.
The Warriors (4-2-2, 3-1-0 NACC), who remained unbeaten at home through three games, shutout the Cougars (0-8-0, 0-4-0 NACC) at home for the second straight season.Â
The two sides played through a scoreless first half of action. Despite WLC owning an 11-6 edge over CUC in the overall shot count, both teams tallied five shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes.
Following a Concordia Chicago yellow card in the 66th minute, freshman
Hector Cervantes (Milwaukee, Wis.) buried a free kick just outside the box to give Wisconsin Lutheran a 1-0 lead for his third goal of the season. Six minutes later, senior
Tony Bedolla (Joliet, Ill.) blasted a shot from outside the box into the upper right corner for the two-goal advantage.
