Wisconsin Lutheran Routs Alverno, 8-1

Three players score two goals each in win

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College cruised to an 8-1 Northern Athelics Collegiate Conference win over Alverno on Thursday at Alverno Soccer Field.

The Warriors (6-2-1, 3-2-0 NACC), who won their 12th straight game over the Inferno (0-7-0, 0-5-0 NACC), recorded their second-highest goal total of the season. 

WLC netted its four first-half goals within the first 17 minutes of the first half. Freshman Anna Ruchti (Pewaukee, Wis.) scored her first collegiate goal in the 6th minute on an assist from junior Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.). Three minutes later, sophomore Brooke Bluhm (New Berlin, Wis.) assisted on senior Katie Wasiak's (Muskego, Wis.) fourth goal of the season.

Sophomore Elle Doninger (Grayslake, Ill.) made it a 3-0 score in the 14th minute following her first goal of the season. Wasiak wrapped up the opening-half scoring in the 17th minute with a successful penalty kick goal.

Miller opened the second half with her first goal of the season, a 50th-minute penalty kick. Junior Adlin Sanchez Cordero (Milwaukee, Wis.) then scored twice in less than a minute span, with the later being assisted by Miller. Ruchti rounded out the scoring in the 60th minute with her second goal of the game.

Wisconsin Lutheran accumulated a season-high 45 shots, including 32 on goal, also a season-high. Freshman Alex Gabb (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied a team-high seven shots for the Warriors, who out numbered AC 7-1 in corner kicks. Freshman Kallista Street (Kenosha, Wis.) made five saves.
